Jeff Lund (Keyboards & Vocals)

Jeff is one of those rare "A" list musicians that are known by only a handful of people.  Kalimba is extremely fortunate to know him and have the opportunity to work with him.
Jeff's career started with a formal Jazz & Classical
background spanning over 20 years that included
playing the Clarinet and Tenor Saxophone in Jazz,
Wind ensemble, and marching band.  As Jeff's
career grew he toured with several bands from LA,
San Francisco, New York, Miami, Washington D.C.
and Victoria B.C.
Living in the rarified air of "A" list musicians, Jeff
composes music in the original Seattle band
"Striking Back" working with the producer of "No
Doubt", Live", "Incubus", "Jacks Mannequin", and
"Hoobastank". This has led to recording at some of
the major studios in Seattle including Robert Lang
Studios, Bear Creek Studios & 4th Street Recording
in North Hollywood, California.
Evident in Jeff's vocabulary are the influences of Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and Stevie Wonder.
Given the complex compositions and keyboard work of Earth Wind and Fire, Jeff's musical depth and maturity give Kalimba the ability to execute this material at the highest level.

Gary Tobin (Guitarist)

Gary grew up in San Diego in a highly musical family.
He was privately taught violin and piano between 6 to 18 years old by the Concert Master for the San Diego Symphony, broadened his musical landscape by picking up guitar at 12 - which quickly grew into his primary instrument ever since.
A career in architecture placed him in Los Angeles where he continued to engage in music as a studio section violinist and session guitarist. While living in L.A. he started to formalize his composition skills for commercial production projects, working on film and other album based projects. This led to starting a cooperative composer's consortium of like minded musicians that continues to this day providing production tracks for various industry segments.
In the Seattle area Gary has brought his years of diverse music experience to various groups ranging from R&B to Jazz, Zydeco and Top 40 dance bands. With soulful/funky rhythms and signature leads lines, Gary brings to Kalimba the finishing groove and polish to the EW&F sound.
